About

John Flood is Professor of Law and Society at Griffith University, a lawyer and sociologist whose work sits at the intersection of law, professional change, and emerging technology. He has spent years examining how globalisation reshapes the legal profession, lawyers, law firms, and the institutions that govern trust. Alongside this, he has been closely engaged with the impact of technologies such as blockchain on professional knowledge, regulation, and new forms of organisation, including through research roles connected to specialist blockchain centres and a track record of publishing in this area. He has also helped build future-facing legal research capacity, including leadership of a law futures centre, and contributes to the field through editorial work in legal ethics. As a Governor at the London School of Innovation, John brings rigorous governance oversight informed by deep expertise in law, ethics, and institutional transformation, supporting LSI’s long-term integrity, accountability, and public credibility as it develops AI-era education.
